Planning and designing Anjali + Alex’s wedding was simply a treat. This wedding really meant a lot to me – from working with such an incredible couple whose love inspires me, to styling their engagement shoot at Hatley Castle (my old stomping grounds where I attended University) to planning and designing their wedding and hand making most of the details.
We absolutely love working with out of town + overseas clients as we feel extra valuable in those situations. Those clients cannot be here in person to see everything and meet everyone involved in their wedding so we are literally their eyes and ears. We feel so blessed that couples entrust us with that responsibility and to be such a large part of their special day. This was the case for Anjali + Alex as they live in Texas and wanted their wedding to take place in Victoria, BC.
After Anjali + Alex’s wedding day vision, ideal dates, guest count + budget was taken into consideration, we just couldn’t find exactly what they wanted for their venue. However, what we could find was the next best thing – Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse – a venue that encompassed a good portion of what they were looking for and was enough of a blank slate and also had enough flexibility that we could create the rest. So that’s what we did.
Anjali + Alex (let’s be real, mainly Anjali haha – but Alex wanted whatever would make his gal extremely happy) wanted to be married in a garden, “surrounded by fluffy flowers”, and celebrate in a reception that was a taste of the West Coast accented by bright colours + modern details of India. They wanted every detail to feel very personalized + fun.
We were thrilled with the outcome but we could not have done it without the incredibly talented Vanessa of Verbena Floral Design – she played such a large role in bringing Anjali’s vision to life. Vanessa won “Best Florist – Overall” at this year’s Professional BC Wedding Awards for the florals at Anjali + Alex’s wedding and she SO deserved it as you can see for yourself. Overall, the entire day was magical + very emotional in all the right ways.
If you haven’t recognized Anjali or her stunning bouquet, you can find them on the cover of the current issue of Real Weddings Planning Guide! Anjali + Alex’s wedding is featured in that same issue so be sure to pick one up to see more images and read more about the details and long distance planning. Extremely grateful to have had the incredible Vasia Photography there to capture the day. Here’s to a wedding that will forever hold a big place is my heart xo
