Emily and Joe were an absolute delight and burst of energy from the get-go. Their sarcastic sense of humour and the very clear vision of what they wanted (or should I say what Emily wanted….I can only say that because Joe would definitely smile and nod and say “Whatever she wants!” while laughing and rolling his eyes) made working with them an absolute pleasure.
In terms of design, Emily knew she wanted a gold and white wedding. Literally, “gold and white everything!!!!!” she exclaimed on more than one occasion and never once did she stray from that. And “with small touches of Paris” since that is where these two were engaged. While Emily wanted the overall feel to be elegant, she did not want it to feel “stuffy” since that was the opposite of her + Joe.
We kept everything clean and simple with a couple statement pieces and elegant table details including gold beaded charger plates, custom silk ribbon threaded placecards + gold table name frames. Flower Factory created the most beautiful and dramatic white flower throw that covered the front of the ceremony stage which was then transferred in front of the head table. Flower Factory also created beautiful tall white centerpieces to flank the beginning of the aisle as well as backdrop for the ceremony. Gold chivaris were a must in creating the glow to the ceremony room and then all was transitioned into the reception room.
Emily and Joe, being their hilarious selves, created fun facts about their relationship for the table names. Two of my favorites being: “Joe grew 17 new white hairs since he met Emily” (Table 17) + “Joe has found 16 scratches on his car, courtesy of Emily” (Table 16).
The wedding day itself was a busy one with traditional Chinese games, two tea ceremonies, more than a couple dress changes, Western ceremony, incredible 3-course plated dinner by the Vancouver Convention Center and many heartfelt speeches. Never have I seen a couple with bigger smiles on their faces every single minute of the day even when it probably felt a bit busy. Gold balloons were a must for photo ops + The Collective You kept the guests entertained throughout the evening taking beautiful and meaningful portraits of all Emily and Joe‘s friends and family. We are very honoured to have been a part of the most memorable day in Emily + Joe‘s lives xo Photography by Two White Doves

“Jessica and her team did an amazing job with the day of coordination and decor and design. She really brought the idea’s into reality and always asked for our feedback before finalizing the details. I can go on and on about how great the service was but just look at our photos and you will understand. THANK YOU!”
