Carla + Brian really wanted their wedding to show off Vancouver’s Summer. Cecil Green Park House was the perfect choice for this since their guest count would allow us to plan for the reception to take place on the back terrace and have an alternate ‘Plan B’ inside if Vancouver did what it does best, rain! But when the day arrived, the weather turned out perfect. Although a damp morning, we were hopeful the clouds would clear and they did – the temperature of the day actually could not have been better for their outdoor ceremony + intimate, romantic, open air reception.
Soft pinks, coral + gold with an elegant yet vintage-y feel was Carla’s vision – with cafe stringed lights! Flowers were of very high importance for Carla so we of course called on Celsia Florist to bring her floral vision to life. And they did not disappoint! Carla’s bouquet is definitely one of the most beautiful we have seen and is the most “loved” Instagram post to date for Celsia. The flower centerpieces added the perfect amount of colour + romance to the tables, all captured beautifully by Gucio Photography.
Carla, Brian + their closest friends + family enjoyed a beautiful outdoor dinner, with many heartfelt speeches, on a terrace with views of Vancouver. I’m certain their guests felt like they got to see the best of Vancouver in the Summer that evening while celebrating the newlyweds! The temperature cooled down at the perfect time for everyone to move inside where they rocked the night away with The Last Scene. Shirts off, ties around head type of rocking out! Guests were able to take breathers from the dancefloor with Photobooth Vancouver and enjoyed the cutest little individual cakes you’ve ever seen created by Sugarplum Desserts.

This wedding is near + dear to my heart. The bride, Erin, is one of my best friends and since Scott was introduced into her life, he has also become a great friend. Friends who hire me are always concerned about how much fun I’m going to have on their wedding day and that is the last thing that goes through my mind. I can never emphasize enough that being chosen as their planner/decorator gives me the most joy + excitement of all. I would prefer to be running around on their wedding day ensuring everything is perfect for them. I wouldn’t want it any other way. Erin + Scott had a full “wedding weekend” on the Sunshine Coast. Erin‘s family has a cabin on Thormanby Island which is just a 5 minute boat ride away from the dock at Rockwater where the wedding was being held. The day before the wedding, Erin + Scott water taxi’d all of the guests over to Thormanby for a “Before I Do” BBQ at her family cabin. It was the perfect kick off to an epic weekend. All of the neighboring cabin families were in attendance with their BBQ’s grilling up a storm for all of the guests, drinks were flowing + there were lawn games galore. It was the perfect opportunity for all of the friends to meet the families and vice versa. After an unforgettable day on Thormanby, guests were transported back to Rockwater where Erin + Scott hosted a cozy bonfire complete with welcome s’mores before everyone headed to bed in the nearby cabins + tent house suites.
The wedding day was nothing short of magical. It was probably the sunniest/hottest day we had seen that season so far…and we were setting up under a clear tent. Let’s just say Margot + I sweat buckets that day but no pain, no gain! The bride + groom wanted an elegant yet West Coast feel to their entire wedding. The clear tent allowed us to take advantage of the beautiful natural scenery in every direction. Simple white draping + rod iron chandeliers completed the tent and we created a very romantic + elegant feel with the tablescape details. Platinum satin linens paired with dusty pink roses, white hydrangea, pedestal candles as well as gold + wood accents.
After the beautiful + emotional ceremony, the wedding party + photographer hopped on a yacht back to Thormanby where Erin wanted to do the portraits since it’s a place so close to the her heart. Guests were kept occupied with plenty of drinks, snacks + photo op moments. When the wedding party arrived back to Rockwater, everyone enjoyed an incredible family style dinner under the clear tent. Erin + Scott’s wedding marks the largest sparkler send off we’ve ever pulled off which led straight into dancing until the wee hours. Huge props to Melissa Gidney for the stunning photos + to Flower Lantern, Design Spectacle, DJ Pri of GirlOnWax, Gibsons Party Rentals, Rockwater Secret Cove Resort + many more who made this weekend such a success xo And another thanks to Erin + Scott, for being simple amazing. Love you guys!

“Jessica was the best investment we could have made for our wedding day. She is professional, to-the-point and most importantly she knows the Vancouver wedding world inside and out which means time/money savings for her clients. Jess did our decor planning and day-of coordination and we could not have been happier with the work she did. She has an extraordinary eye for detail and a talent for keeping everything moving forward in an organized fashion. Jess absorbs wedding planning stressors (location changes, seating plans, missing vases the next day etc.) so that you don’t have to. Three weeks out from our wedding she took over everything so that we could enjoy the time leading up to the big day…and we really did. Everyone kept commenting on how calm we were and I know we felt that way because we knew we had the team at Petite Pearl looking out for us.
You only get married once so you really want to do it right. Jessica ensures you stick to your budget, have fun throughout the whole process and most importantly that you don’t have a care in the world on the actual day. Jess is reliable, has an awesome sense of humour (which you need at moments while planning a wedding) and will without a doubt elevate your wedding experience ten-fold.
Two words – HIRE HER.”
