Kirbi + Tim: Dusty’s Whistler

Kirbi + Tim’s wedding was such an honour to be a part of. In addition to them being an incredible couple, they are also good friends of mine so the entire planning process was extra fun.

Tim grew up in Whistler so it’s “a place close to home” for him, his family + Kirbi as they spend a lot of their time there. The venue, Dusty’s Bar + BBQ, was the perfect fit for what Kirbi + Tim wanted their wedding day to be: a formal celebration while still relaxed + a party that no one would forget.

Mission accomplished! Even I was feeling a little rough around the edges the following day after joining in the celebrations later in the evening! Additionally, even though they had a large guest count, Kirbi + Tim wanted the entire day to feel intimate which we achieved by having half of the guests stand during the ceremony to crowd in shoulder to shoulder with best friends + family and for the reception, long tables created the feeling of a large family dinner which was perfect. And we successfully managed to seat all 170 guests on the main floor!

The weather gods were on our side on this day as the drizzle rain stopped only 15 minutes before the beautiful + emotional outdoor ceremony and then every guest proceeded to wear out their dancing shoes in between ski shots + dancing on the bar until the wee hours. Pretty.freaking.awesome.

Kirbi + Tim’s “First Look” will forever be one of the best wedding stories: as Tim waited with his back turned and Kirbi approached, she said “turnaround” (in a flirtatious Bonnie Tyler “Total Eclipse of the Heart” tone) and all of the groomsmen randomly busted into song as the groom turned around + ran to his bride. All of incredible moments captured by Rebecca Amber Photography say it all.

Kind words:

“We loved working with Jessica and would recommend her to anyone. She is extremely organized and was on top of every detail to keep our budget in check. She is amazingly creative, provided great vendor suggestions and on top is so fun to work with.

Jessica’s planning helped exceed all of our expectations for our wedding day, we couldn’t have done it without her.”

Victoria Biernacik - Hi Jessica, I’m looking at a couple of venues right now for my wedding in the summer of 2016. Would love to get some quotes from you for the day-of coordination package, as well as a little bit of help with styling?

Thanks so much!
