This wedding was a couple years ago but it was LIT and a career highlight due to the unique vision. Featured in Real Weddings Magazine, Marz + Bron’s wedding was edgy, unconventional + badass. They had zero desire for any fluff, they just wanted to throw the “wedding of the century” for their friends and family – an epic dinner + after party at which they just so happen to also exchange vows.
If it wasn’t for such a laid back couple who completely trusted me to handle every single little detail and basically just said YES every time I presented something to them, this wedding would have been the most difficult one I had ever planned in terms of preparation + logistics.
We installed the first ever fully floored reception tent on the side lawn of Cecil Green Park House (hidden from guests). I can’t remember what the count was but I did upwards of like 12 site visits with various engineers, the tent company, the venue, power providers etc. Cecil Green Park House is stunning but she ain’t no young chicken and she wasn’t prepare to provide power for an entire tented dinner reception, external catering needs and a full rave inside (I’ll touch on that shortly). We also determined we weren’t able to stake the ground due to underground pipes and because we’re cliff side, so many other details had to be reviewed to ensure safety and integrity of the tent installation.
Did I mention that this was my first wedding after having my first baby so I had a newborn baby throughout all of this? I kind of forgot lol. But what I do remember is bringing him in his carrier to every single one of those site visits and meetings, and Marz would hold him or she would go off for a wander with him while I worked on the details. Gosh, I love amazing humans and those who believed in me even when I asked myself “what the hell are you thinking and how on earth are you going to pull all of this off with zero sleep and an infant in tow”. You just do.
All of that aside, the planning + design was so much fun thanks to their unique vision + the creative freedom Marz + Bron gave me. We produced an incredible ceremony, flooded with roses and a custom aisle runner, a cocktail hour with more treats than you can imagine, a one-of-a-kind dinner reception with florals like you’ve never seen before and numerous custom details including a custom statement “chandelier”.
But the party didn’t stop there. As a surprise to the guests (we had curtained off the inside of Cecil Green), we moved them to an exclusive after party complete with raised DJ booth, truss lighting, lasers and a “bottle service” lounge area – literally created a mini Vegas for them and their guests. We could not have brought this one to life without the dedication + precision by Apex Tents, BOLD Event Creative, PROMOSA and of course, our floral wizards Celsia Floral. All captured by the talented Tomasz Wagner. Many more vendors to note below!
